The Pioneer cemetery in Inverhuron Prov. Park is the last survivor of the ghost town of Inverhuron's original settlement. Head stones date to the 1850's.
The original site was destroyed by two separate fires and much of the town was covered in sand dunes. Archaeological digs have produced foundations of homes, and sometimes pieces of the town emerge when some sand dunes are blown about.
A newer Inverhuron is located south of the original ghost town.
I came across this old building on my way to Kincardine, in the middle of a small hamlet called Bervie. The building has a rusted sign on the front that says (a)Dore Machine Shop(a). There is a house behind the shop that is partially collapsed.
This is School Section #5. The school was built in 1906 to replace the old schoolhouse and closed in 1950 due to low enrollment; it was eventually sold to a private owner in 1964. The building now sits vacant and sealed up tight; it also has an interesting boat parked in the backyard.

UPDATE As of at least FEB 2021, it appears renovations have started. New roof and windows are a great start.
