spring 2024 - closed up for now (or is it?)

when walking around the area on april 1st, i noticed a mild smoke scent coming from the northwest side of this building. when i turned the corner, i saw that the wooden boarding had been burnt down, likely just the day before. decided to come back later that day with my boyfriend to actually enter, hoping that the smoke scent would air out a bit (it did not lol- i was sneezing the whole visit). not much to see - just graffitti-clad walls, a beat-up shelf near the front, and some wires hanging about. the coolest part imo was the old restroom. we dipped out of there after lieeek 20 minutes as there wasn't much to explore, but ran into a couple groups of highschoolers from the area. probs a popular spot for streetsville ss or jfss kids, which brings a sad update... i came back again yesterday (may 6th) to check out the place on my own to see that that entry point had been boarded up- with a metal sheet this time. i'm guessing there was too much commotion going on and a neighbor ratted to the city, and got it boarded up with something that can't be burnt. but honestly, with the amount of traffic that this place gets, i wouldn't be surprised if i drop by again to see another entry point opened up. theres multiple windows and a couple doors- i'd drop by if i'm in the area to see if anyone made a new entryway.
