alr so nvm i woke up at 2am afgter 5hrs of sleep and my friend woke up 2hrs before me and we have planned this for months. walking down the whole line. leaving at 5am and starting at derry road, we walked through mississauga, brampton and caledon. by the time i got 20km in, i felt like i was going to collapse while he was still going. then as i kept pushing i felt like i had the energy like i just started. we say some beatiful views of mountains and small waterfalls. we got to a bridge that was like a mini don branch. gated at the ends. his biggest fear is heights, and the fact we had walk on the edge to get around the fence, no gaurd rails and a big drop, he was just like i cant do that ill go down and find a way to get to the other side. i said ok and to call me when he got close. i lied down on the tracks and almost fell asleep because he took so long to call. i tried calling him but little did i know he was calling me but since reception was so bad there i did not get it. it eventually came and he told me he had to go to a new years party so his dad picked him up from hurontario st which was a big walk from where we were at that time. he said if you want my dad can pick you up as well and i said no i woke up at 2am with one goal in mind imma keep going. he said alright and i went off. realizing i had like less that 3 hrs to walk another 12km to orangeville because the go bus was at 7:40 i picked up the pace a bit and had an app that calculated i was walking 5-6 km/h. with minimal stops I calculated it would take me at least 2,5 hrs. so i kept going and im glad i did. i found aan insane waterfall and a stone mill ruins but could not go to it because that river was freezing, and would take to down like a toy, so thats another time. it slowly got darker and i was like shit will i make it to orangeville and get the bus? if i missed that one the next one was 10:30pm. I got as far as the TPC Toronto At Osprey Valley. (a golf course.) and by then it was pitch black and im just like yah i could make it except if there is anything else to see i won't be able to enjoy it because it is so dark. so i was just like its not worth it so i went back to Charleston Sideroad and walked to caledon village for my bus. I got home at 8:30 and i can say for sure out of all the long ass bike rides i did and other things. this was by FAR the most physically and one of the most mentally hardest things ive ever done in my life. what a way to end 2024, Happy New Year!
