The Holley high school opened its doors to students in 1931. The school was closed down in January of 1976 so that the county could build a bigger school to accommodate the communities needs. After being a school, the gymnasium was transformed into a storage unit/mechanical shop for a company called Liftec Manufacturing, until they went bankrupt approximately 23 years ago.

The estimated cost to clean up the school of asbestos and other health hazards was one million... 15 years ago!

Fortunately, the Landmark Society of Western New York announced that the Holley High school was on it's list of "Five to Revive".

Meaning that the Holley High school was fixed up and transformed into.. a new high school!

There is more history on the building and some information on the Five to Revive project here: http://landmarksociety.org/programs/five-to-revive/five-to-revive-2013/five-to-revive-holley-high-school/
