I got a major reception here. I've been watching this place for a year or more. This was my 3rd time on the property. I spent 20 minutes or more around the exterior of this place, checking doors and windows. I was about to give up (again). As a last ditch effort I tried the front of the house, facing the street. and Hubba Hubba I got in.
So I went about my business, telling myself to slow down and take my time. I usually do a "Dine and Dash", but this time I felt safe. I tried a couple of light switches and there was no power. The fridge was open...no lights. Good. After all there were alarm warning stickers on the windows. I looked in a small cupboard under the stairs, looking for a basement. There was a light with a little string on it which I pulled, and what do you know, the light came on. I thought "I better get outta here".
So I exit real quick, think about taking some exterior shots around the front and suddenly I got my "Major Reception". 3 cars pull in. I'm standing there with my tripod, and a guy rolls down his window and asks what I'm doing. I make up a story about writing an article in Ontario Heritage Magazine and I'm researching century homes. He's actually cool with it, thinks it's awesome I am trying to preserve history. He was friendly and tells me He just bought the place and the MTO wants to tear it down and make a bus terminal here. It's right next to the 407. Little did He know that 60 seconds before I was in His house. Next week He's going to start the process of getting it deemed a heritage property and try to save it. He was really cool, gave me his business card and everything.

this should be lvl 3 now as the inside is a little messy and broken windows and what not
Ya, you have ta have a story ready and be convincing, maybe add a nasty twitch or Tourette's Syndrome . Alarmed and unlocked ? Who would have guessed that. Really good find Paul and great set.
I parked my car a couple of streets over and walked in. Possible silent alarm.
