Devine Street Public School

The former Devine Street Public School. The land at Devine and Brock Streets has been used for educational purposes since the 1800's. A one-room schoolhouse stood on the site until 1882 when it was replaced by Devine Street School. Throughout the 20th century the school was expanded on several times until its closure in 2010 due to declining enrollment. The building has sat vacant since 2010 when it closed and has since fallen into disrepair. The property has since been purchased and a seniors complex has been approved for the site.
