About this location

Built in 1927 by the Dominion Bridge Company, le pont David (David's Bridge) replaced an earlier covered bridge that traversed la riviere du Diable (Devil's River), joining St. Jovite (modern Mont Tremblant) with La Conception. It seems fairly solid, but has, shall we say, a bit of a list to port. One can readily see why there are some rather large "maximum height" signs as the cross beams have been pranged a number of times by the oblivious. Said prangs, some of which did some pretty good damage, may have motivated the bridge's final closure. The bridge was open in 2003, but I can't seem to find an actual closure date. Oh, and someone stole one and a half of the two bridge plaques.
