Established in 1853, the Centreville Cemetery is the final resting place of members of the Centreville Primitive Methodist Congregation. No trace remains of the Bethel Chapel, the church that was built at this site and attended by these early pioneers. In 1878, the name of the church was changed to the Centreville Primitive Methodist Church, which finally closed in 1904. The cemetery is also known as the Methodist Cemetery of the Speirs Cemetery. The village of Centreville was established in 1840, named for being at the centre of the township of Albion.
For those of you who are interested, there is also a geocache at this location.
