About this location

Listed this cemetery as active as the front part is still in use. However the back part has many old gravestones, including those of war of 1812 veterans, and Col. Thomas Talbot, founder of the 'Talbot Settlement'. It's quite an idyllic site, with a beautiful forested area as a backdrop. Closer to the front of the cemetery there is the gravesite of Sergeant Ellis Wellwood Sifton, who was killed in action at Vimy Ridge.

Sgt. Ellis Wellwood Sifton is actually buried in France, the gravemarker here is purely to honour him as a local hero.
