Fort Barry sits just north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the Marin Headlands and contains several abandoned coastal artillery batteries scattered across the hillsides. The structures are mostly reinforced concrete, built into the terrain, with large open gun pits, various different types of rooms and connecting corridors.
There are a total of five batteries which I explored and have named in the album, being: Battery Alexander, Battery Mendell, Battery Wallace, Battery O'Rorke, Battery Smith-Guthrie.
Some of them are inaccessible, some of them are accessible but have been heavily ran through with lots of graffiti, and there's one that had lesser known secrets inside. The only maintained one is Battery Wallace, as it runs through part of the trail.
Take your time, hike through the trail with beautiful views, explore the batteries while you're at it, and enjoy your time here :) ⠀
