This is the building of one of the most controversial and infamous building establishments in Belleville. Once known as "The Railroaders Club" but best known as the "Doc's Palace" was a strip club and bar (with motel rooms above) located directly across the road from the VIA train station. Doc's Palace was shut down 10 or so years ago when a fire claimed most of the interiors. The building was then sold to two brothers from Quebec who planned to reopen it as a strip club. After alleged death threats towards the brothers and the city not approving, they moreless squashed these plans for the brothers who in turn decided to try and sell the building at property value. The building has been on and off the market for years. It is also locked up tighter than Fort Knox. The realtor who was handling the sale at one point stated that he would NOT take prospective buyers through the building unless an offer was made first without seeing it to discourage gawkers from just wanting a peek at the inside. So far? No takers.
