Hotel Quinte built in 1895 was a boutique hotel built in Belleville Ont, Known for their elegant suites with different themes, roman tile flooring, marble pillars and ornate ceilings. It was a popular place for many near and far. Sadly on December 20th 2012 a terrible fire claimed this historic piece of Belleville. Due to the structure being at a large chance of collapse the only thing to do is demolish what remains. It was 4 months ago that this terrible fire claimed the hotel and still everyday you will see bystanders just sitting watching this building being torn down. Much of Belleville is still very devastated by the hotels demise and I'm sure it will continue for some time as it was the first hotel of it's kind to be built in Belleville.
Everything that was able to be salvaged from the hotel before the demo is going up on the auction block, available for people to have a chance to own a little piece of history.
Photo's taken by me are watermarked, the photo's that are not were retrieved from the internet.
I am keeping this full member for now until the building's gates come down as the city has had issues with vandalism and looters, even with the building in it's present state.

11 years later and it still sits empty now acting almost as a campsite for the homeless. What a shame.
they're now planning to build condos here, surprise surprise. not usually what you see happen with places around here but i suppose that's what happens when west starts to moves east.
I hit up the Kodak before the concert too, one of my fav locations!
Thanx guys! I was at that concert last night! It was amazing! Just as all their concerts are. I feel like a wrecking ball hit me today tho. I've been in the pit before but this one was extremely aggressive.
She's probably celebrating by attending the Green Day concert at the ACC tonight. Wish I was there too.. :)
Another 'explorer of the month' honouree right here. This lady has posted 27 quality locations and 73 galleries in the 5 weeks she has been here, AND she's a mom with young children! Where do you find the time?.. Bravo!.. :) take a bow..
Fixed, I think, it doesn't show on my end but that's probably because I'm viewing the old page. I blame my birthday on that brain fart. I'm trying to forget about it and am adamant about having my birthday banned from now on.
The owner that took over the building emptied his bank accounts shortly before the building caught fire and skipped town, to my knowledge he still hasn't been tracked down and there are many rumors swirling it was an insurance scam.
I know many people that had stayed here, even those that lived in the city just went "because". It was affordable, the suite I had rented was 180 for the night. I had been in the hotel many times though, even dined there numerous times, they had great food!
I was suppose to stay here in the presidential suite the night of my wedding, 2 weeks prior I found out I was pregnant with my 4th child, I cancelled the reservations because I was unable to use the hot tub, I really wish I would have just gone anyways now.
