About this location

In 1875 Engineers tried to better the farming near Grand Bend by digging a cut to allow the Ausable to run easier into Lake Huron. This bridge was likely built about that time. Fine example of iron (I think) with hand installed rivets. Others have disappeared, and the surprise here was the concrete deck. It's officially closed but still used by off roaders (ATV and snowmobiles)
