I don't trust my hands to be clean enough after traipsing creeping around mildewy, moldy surfaces and old raccoon crap. I had a few run-ins with poison ivy in the last summers, which can be abated if treated in the first half hour. Once I B-lined to Shoppers Drug Mart and bought some alcohol to destroy the oil on my ankles. Another time, I was SO desperate that I went into a Tim Horton's bathroom and pulled my pants completely off and soaped my lower legs. I didn't even wash it off... just put my pants back on the frothy mess and kept exploring. Anyway, the reason I mention all that is because I routinely now keep a giant bottle of disinfectant in my vehicle so that I don't run into those problems again. And I've made a routine point of thoroughly disinfecting my hands after returning to my vehicle from every location. So I have finally started trusting a bit of food for snacks: nuts and granola bars.
What the heck? That was strange. Sorry TheEasyKaybreezy and DAExplores. Your responses only showed up after I responded to Iron Hawk's message and joined the conversation. I wouldn't have repeated the same as what you already said.
If you manage to successfully create a clone of a location by targeting it slightly outside the existing radius, a moderator will quickly pick up on it and merge your photo gallery with the existing location. If your description is not just a generic description, we will also often cut-and-paste your description onto the existing description for the location, separating them with a broken line, etc. and giving you credit for the portion that you wrote. It is understandably a bit of a let-down when you post a real gem that you've been holding on to, only to discover that the location exists. I've been in that same situation many times over the years!

^^ this. admins can merge galleries to other locations, so it's really not an issue if it's a duplicate.
Just add it , if it exists it'll get merged.

Hello fellow newbie! I am in the KW area, but joining you from afar to begin our journey towards greatness! By greatness, of course I mean explorers and safe healthy individuals; always careful and prepared! I have done a few strolls off the beaten path, I walk mostly everywhere if not public transit. I have found a few places that I remember to return to with my camera and a friend to get a better look. I am keen on sharing my findings, send me a message and we can compare field notes if you'd like! Good luck and stay safe out there
Hello there! So glad to be on the way towards making adventurous connections with other open-minded artful dodgers! I appreciate the fact that this platform is available, I love the outdoors and I find it quite beautiful when I am granted the opportunity to experience Mother Nature in all her glory as she reclaims architecture, whatever stages I can see are all works of art to me! I am new on this site, KW area, looking to meet with a Mod or Admin but am currently unable to message directly. Any tips for fulfilling the requirements to become a member? I have posts and photos of locations that are newly boarded and likely won't remain standing for long so I am anxious to join fully so that I can really contribute in a meaningful way. The demolition rate of the buildings in this area is so fast that it's hard to comprehend and I have a sense of urgency when I see these historic buildings boarded up because I know how in a blink of an eye all that history gets turned to rubble in a flash. Anyways, thanks for being awesome and have a groovy day! Happy hunting and looking forward to becoming more involved in the near-as-possible future! ^_^

that seems like a glitch. I will make note of this and have it fixed soon
