This used to be the entrance to a trailer park and campground, up until the eighties, now the property is used by a construction contractor. The blades used to actually turn, liklely with a motor.

Hmmm...says 20 pics but only shows 10, 6 of which work. Bummer, looks like a promising place!
Damn...I thought it had been an active property for some reason prior to the burning...wish I had taken a trip by a few months earlier. Now the plot thickens if it was already abandoned.
Dammit it's already tough enough 'sploring without this kind of media and law enforcement attention. Keep the captives in an active house willya?

I saw a new lock on the door when I returned in October. Was still not very secure but I didn't make it inside. Guess I'm glad I didn't now! http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2011/12/20/pickering-confinement-room-toronto_n_1161079.html
here's the link where I found the data Trish. http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/dfrp-rbif/pn-nb/09820-eng.aspx?&qid=996451

Excellent find.
Interesting story on the news tonight. An abandoned farmhouse on the 7th Conc of Pickering, near the York/Durham Townline. Apparently the authorities have found a room in the basement of the house, that was used for human confinement. At this point they are not sure if the room was ever used or by who. Not sure if this is the house in question, but it sure fits the bill. Any ideas?

No problem ... just keep going past the grain elevator and it's on the right hand side, just before the edge of town. :)

This was the Esquire Theatre in Brantford's downtown. It was built in 1937 in the style of Art Deco. It originally seated 982. In July 2010 the building was demolished along with other buildings in a decision to demolish the south side of Colborne St.
