At this time I would like to state a personal opionion on HDR photography. The purpose of HDR (high dynamic range) is to combine a series of photographs with multiple exposure so as to capture the most detail possible in a single image.
...It should be used as a final resort when you are at a crossroads of either overexposed or underexposed and cannot use any other settings or post-processing techniques to get a quality image otherwise. While I've seen some images that work with the really dramatic settings, it's pretty rare.
Extreme contrast and oversaturation can destroy a perfectly good image, not to mention accentuate color noise. Don't get me wrong, many times it works beautifully, and each photographer is an artist with the capability of a determining what they want the outcome to be.
