We saw this location while pursuing a different urban site, and we took a detour to explore it. The cylinder can be found by following Lindsay's Wilson road almost to the end, and then by making a right turn. According to Kawartha Lake's Property and Planning GIS system, this location is on agricultural property. As we approached the cylinder, we saw that snow had been piled up, indicating that someone had been here relatively recently, but not for the purposes of farming. Once we reached the door on the far side of the cylinder, we saw a padlock attached to it, but when the door was pulled, it simply opened up. While inspecting the inside of the bin, we found piles of trash, and a large quantity of bricks. There was no grain to be seen. It is possible that people lived inside at some point, because there were bottles and food packaging as well. There was nothing overhead other than the roof, and the only safety concerns were the door closing back on us, any dangerous trash that could have been found on the ground, and the musty smell in the air. The grain bin was manufactured by WESTEEL, and is classified as an unstiffened grain bin.
