Hazards of Large abandoned grain bin

The only potential safety concerns were the door closing us in, the musty smell inside, and any potential dangerous objects on the ground.

History of Large abandoned grain bin

No confirmed history on this location was found.

We saw this location while pursuing a different urban site, and we took a detour to explore it. The cylinder can be found by following Lindsay's Wilson road almost to the end, and then by making a right turn. According to Kawartha Lake's Property and Planning GIS system, this location is on agricultural property. As we approached the cylinder, we saw that snow had been piled up, indicating that someone had been here relatively recently, but not for the purposes of farming. Once we reached the door on the far side of the cylinder, we saw a padlock attached to it, but when the door was pulled, it simply opened up. While inspecting the inside of the bin, we found piles of trash, and a large quantity of bricks. There was no grain to be seen. It is possible that people lived inside at some point, because there were bottles and food packaging as well. There was nothing overhead other than the roof. The grain bin was manufactured by WESTEEL, and is classified as an unstiffened grain bin.

I had the barn 1lot south of this marked on my map but not this. Did you see/get into it or has it been taken down?

We saw it, but since it was our first time exploring, we didn’t check it out any closer than from the road. This was due to the fact that there were ‘no trespassing’ signs in front of the lot.

Is it on the website yet?

It is not. You won't get very far in this hobby if you're following the rules

Thanks for the advice, did you want to add it, or would you be offended if I did

It's yours! If you can post a location first, then you post a location first. It doesn't matter too much.
