““No one who works here comes out normal,” he said. “They’ve taken our skin, our limbs, our sweat and our blood.”
The former rubber Plant on Cawthra was a pretty cool exploration. The site itself was absolutely enormous. Not something you see very often in Toronto, and it honestly may have been the largest industrial building in the entire junction area. With that being said, of course I was pretty curious as to what was inside. Turns out that the machinery had been entirely removed from the building, which was really unfortunate. Despite that, the facility was still pretty interesting to check out, containing some offices, boiler & high voltage rooms, lockers, and even a small lab. Our trip cut off abruptly when we triggered a 360° motion sensor, which showed its appreciation for our presence by flashing strobing red/yellow/green lights at us. At that point we had thoroughly explored the entire thing, so it was no big deal that we ended up triggering the alarm. We left in not too much of a hurry after that.
