Rayner House

Demolished House in Milton, Ontario, Canada

May 18 2014

 |  1003

Recent status Demolished
Location # 10417

This house belonged to William Rayner. I believe that his wife passed away in 2009. I have no further information on the former residents.

The house is designated a heritage property which requires a Heritage Impact Assessment before any potential demolition would take place. It is one of only a few houses in Milton with a gambrel roof.

For now the house is empty. One room contains a piano. It was too dark to take any more photos.

Holy crap! Ya I'd say this needs to be FM!

Wouldn't this be better suited as FM??? Would be a shame to see that railing destroyed & dicks throughout. Especially when it's so close to Milton which has an abundance of dicks!

After rereading some stuff, it might not have been a request for demolition but a request for overview. In other words, we aren't asking for demolition, but if we do, what will be the outcome? In April Heritage Milton was saying, "the property at 8161 Britannia Road is a heritage property of potential significance." In August they were saying, they "raise no objections to its demolition".

Aww, you scooped me on this one. There was a request for demolition last year. I believe the assessment stated the house was to be designated & the out buildings could be demolished.
