About this location

This cemetery was the burial ground for the Wesleyan Methodist at Benson's Chapel , one mile north. It was used as a cemetery as early as 1850 before a burial deed was issued. This property was sold to the trustee of the church , Thomas Firby of Windsor on July19, 1855 for 5 shillings[ about 60 cents]. This cemetery was abandoned and overgrown not too long ago but the community made the township aware of it, and the Cemetery Act and now it's taken care of...................................................Some unique headstones here are Wilfrid Anger with a damaged picture, hopefully by time but probably vandalism during the abandoned period. Some amazing script lost but, to only a few that stop here. One set of headstones are still in line after 150 years.
