The second find on that OAP 2014 Meet Route Freesstyler North Tour.......a warmer time and a great cemetery. Overall, a very nice job preserving some very unique headstones of our pioneers in this area. Some have a combination of moss, mold, and an iron base substance, giving that rust look. That black moss/mold looks like a ball point pen splatter, or worn painted letters, on some headstones creating a very different look. The script to me is just awesome and the use of different fonts emphasises those words. A word found,"Aslied" on one of the headstones actually looks like "Asked', the very observant, GRAVEHUNTER thinks and I agree. It now reads; " In death's cold arms lies sleeping here, A tender parent , a companion dear, In love she lived, in peace she died, Her life was asked, but was denied. She was 48. It is nice to be able to read these headstone poems as most are weathered too bad. They are carefully chosen words with interesting information. The random screw holes are annoying, some right through words. This cairn was built in 1956 and erected by the Mosa Township Cemetery Board, and what a great job they did. It is well taken care of except for some odd papers and picture in one corner which doesn't fit in a cemetery this old. Infant son, is on one headstone, more letters then to give the child a simple name, I will never understand doing this and see this a lot. It even could have cost more with the extra letters. A good place for a long Rest nonetheless.
