About this location

The McLaren Pioneer Cemetery located in the settlement named for the family of Scottish immigrants who settled here in the 1840s. The family built a timber slide to exploit the logging industry well under way in the region along the Ottawa River at this time. Fifteen or so headstones varying in dates from the mid-1850's through the early 20th century. Some are very well preserved, others have been restored.

Great set fiso and are nice places to stop, I find. A place to unwind for 30 minutes or so.
