This house is situated on a busy thoroughfare, & like it's neighbour to the east, is set to be demolished to make way for an expansion of the retirement home behind it.

Once I got inside, I noticed the layout was rather unusual. Stairs led off the garage down into the basement, and from there, I was able to make my way back up to the main floor of this bungalow. There is a deck out back, which in it's day, must have been a very pleasant place to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet.

When I was in the basement, there was a very distinct gas smell, and the floor all around the furnace was saturated. A respirator is definitely recommended here. One part of the basement has fluorescent green paint dotting the walls. What the...?

Upstairs was much nicer, with hardwood floors throughout. Although the ceilings are caving in in places & insulation is strewn about, there is no graffiti or obvious vandalism here. Interestingly, the previous owners left things behind like a single child's shoe and sock. There are a lot of cool cobwebs, and even a very old flypaper strip draped around the light inside the back door.

The whole property is being reclaimed by tail grass and weeds. Beware of wild parsnip around the grounds.
