About this location

'Twas a beautiful autumn day, a clearness instilled by the dry, cool air....OK....my storytelling sucks as much as my photography skills do. I should probably just drink and cheer for the Red Sox. Oh...right....swept.......sighhhhhhhh.

Fourteen representatives of the Coyne and Devanny families are remembered by the five standing headstones, two recently restored. The sixth stone was horizontal and covered with natural debris. As it is not in my nature to disturb that which I disturb just by showing up, I do not know who this stone commemorates.

There once was a school here. (S.S. 14 Winchester, The Connaught School). It was destroyed by arson in 2007. The slab, stairs and a railing remain, as does a rather modern looking area light and a still functioning water pump. The Beldan maps show the Coynes and Devannys as lot owners back in the day. There was a post office (Connaught) also located at this intersection. There is a blob that may have been a school.

I have done my best to capture that which remains.
