Scottish immigrant Adam Ferrie Jr, built a flour mill 1839 along the Grand River at Doon, the ruins of which still stand at the trail head.

I believe they have been in the process of stabilising it, but not 100% sure. It has been fenced for a few years now.

As of March 20th 2026 it is fenced off around what is left of the building
