Once upon a time, an Italian couple had a small farm in the north end of Oshawa. It's rumored that the husband was rather grumpy, & didn't like the idea of the town growing into his backyard. It also seems that the property was on the Oshawa Heritage Inventory at some point, although it isn't listed there now. There is a narrow greenhouse on the side, and the owner grew apple trees as well.
There had been a barn on the property, and a next door neighbour, both of which are now nothing but an overgrown field. The property is surrounded on 3 sides by houses and subdivisions. It appears as though the next door neighbour is using the field behind the house, as evidenced by freshly tilled soil, & tracks leading out of the field. I suspect it won't be long before the field & house are swallowed by the subdivision immediately behind the property.
Although this house has clearly been abandoned for some time, I was unable to gain access. The back porch was so badly rotted that I didn't even want to step onto it, although I was able to try the door, to no avail. The property is on a busy road as well, so prudence is advised. One other thing to note is the presence of wasps. It kind of freaked me out when I pulled aside a plastic sheet & came face to face with an active nest.

Looks like the front door was taken out kicked down. Might be possible to explore inside now
