About this location

First off, thanks to a seasoned explorer that pointed me in the right direction which allowed me to find this place. There’s a lot to see here as I took over 500 photos. Besides the 9-hole golf course, there’s the Irish pub, banquet hall, guest rooms and the original farm house to check out.

The Halton Country Club & Inn was established in 1958 and was operational up until about five years ago. Prior to this it was a farm built in the 1890's. There’s really no history to be found but I did run into a couple inside while exploring that gave me some tidbits.

There used to be a big concrete pool on the grounds but unfortunately about 20 years ago some poor young girl downed and it was then immediately filled in. Apparently at one point the Hells Angels were running things here as well. Lastly the man remembered there was a hot tub and sauna in the basement but we figured the door leading down has now been sealed as we couldn’t find an access point anywhere.

The kids have caused some damage here with smashing windows and embedding golf clubs into the walls, but it doesn’t take away from the great explore that this place is. The main highlights are the Freemasons’ stone fireplace and the long wooden custom bar. I wasn’t happy with my shots of either as I found they were truly hard to capture.

The exterior of the farmhouse is way better than the disappointing interior. Nothing of interest inside and the stairs have been removed leading up. I spent almost three hours exploring overall and truly enjoyed my time here.

Plans are to build a huge new mansion on the property; apparently it will be the biggest home in the area. It’s rumoured to be constructed by the guy who designed Deadmau5’s estate, time will tell I guess.

Irish Ruins

Wanted to visit here for a while, unfortunately the main building is all rubble and all that remains is this tiny shed with trash inside.

Luck Of The Irish August 2022

Noticed this place back in June when I was sneaking into the conservation area to photograph the mill ruins there and had it on my list for a while. Finally made the trip out here right before I leave...

It''s unfortunate that this one comes with golf bags full of "vandalism tools" for people to trash the place! Stiil, very cool find! That bar is impressive.
