I am so immersed in this urbex buisness its stoopid. Its life. Its a lifestyle. Its all I think of and all I want to do. A friend who doesnt explore pointed out some possible places for me to check out and this "Water-World" was on the list.
Trying to find a POE, It sounded like someone inside was taking a stoopid long and luxurious shower. TBH it didnt feel quite right even tho I could see thru a window or 2 and the place was M-T. Once entry was gained tho, yeah. It felt right. Buckled flooring, rust stained walls (from the leaking water), mass decay , but total water damage decay. The lower floor is a puddle. The basement is filling maybe, as Im not sure the status of the sump. Either way, conditions are BAAAAD in the basement. Not much there tho thankfully.
The second floor, is where the mess begins. The toilet must have had the flex that is the master on/off switch for the reservoir, freeze. When it thawed BOOM!......And the water began.
I RECCOMEND NOT GOING HERE UNTIL THE UTILITIES ARE TURNED OFF!!!!!!! The lights still work. I got to the kitchen on the main floor to find it showing me the time. This place is UBER UBER DANGEROUS!!! It takes water in a light fixture and ZAP! Electrocution. The basement worried me most in this respect as it seemed to have at least an inch or 2 in there.
Im a dummy, and dont listen to my own advice, so this is a preliminary album as I head out today to try to shoot a better one. I had to shoot this handheld as if it was at tripod level (low like I do) the lens got splashed. I didnt have the sharpness on the pics that Im accustomed to........
With research, I found this house (and the 4 others that surround it) are mentioned in a "Landmarks" article. (Linked)
2 DAYS LATER: I returned to refine my gallery and its the same, but worse. Im seriously afraid of what this will turn into. It may become a legit electrified death trap with floors that crumble at the slightest touch. OH MY.
6 DAYS LATER: Floors are spongy soft in some spots. The main doorframe to the upstairsm had now had the wallpaper peel off. The front door entrance area is below the bathrub. The ceiling where the light fixture was has collapsed......
PRIVATE UNTIL UTILITIES DISCONNECTED OR DEMOLITION, WHATEVER COMES FIRST.
Late MAR 2021 - I had some unexpected events happen and TBH didnt feel right leaving this as it is, and THUS I found a way to report it anonomously with no details or questions to the Cambridge Fire Department. I Imagine in a few days if not TODAY (3/26/2021) the power and water have been cut. I just want to go confirm before I take this off of a Private Location.
Its gonna be bad if its around long enough for a follow-up album. Im pumped.
APRIL 2021 - Went to confirm the power and water ARE cut and activity in the row nearby stopped me. I just wanna shoot an album.
AND….I shot one. Waited maybe 2 weeks, then passed by with Pikaswed420 just to look and nothing was different. I made a goofy video. Sent it to some people. Then made a call to Property Standards/Bylaw to have this ABOMINATION dealt with. I stopped the day the call was made and chatted with the man that was there about the WW2 block houses and the mindf#!% of looking at the row of 4 or 5 and noting the additions. This one is almost original.
MAY 2021 - And so FINALLY the water is cut. Its prolly been a week or 2 I wager and so now most of my fears of finding people dead are gone. LV3 it be. Respirator is a must. I had made sure to close the windows last time I went to try to deter. Have at it now. I will add yet another album here and its the last till I hit it at the end of summer. Its gonna be BAAAAD.
OCT 2021 - ITS GUNNA BE BADDDDDD. There is boards. This place gonna be so fuzzy and weak going forward. OHHHHH MYYYYY. RIP ER DOWN CITY OF CAMBRIDGE.

And I'm thrilled that this abortion is being torn. Omg. I dont normally make anonymous complaints to the City, but when I do...
