The City of Cambridge has passed and secured $350,000 for the purchase of this property and $10,000 for the two tenants to break leases. This is way more than it's worth, but its part of the renovation next door, to make easier access to the Grand River for the community. That'll be nice. This cheese shop was a doctor's office, ice cream parlour and a dress shop, to name a few. This shop owner was not happy but it is not her building. The C.I.B.C. next door is under a little face lift as well. That was always a bank and just the second owner! It was the Gore Bank from 1840 to 1870 and C.I.B.C. from 1870 to present. There is a small but stone storage shed behind with a small space between. Apparently this space started out as garden, for next door, and so it's almost kind of fitting. Ashes to ashes.
