Woodward Elementary School

Built in 1951 and closed in 2015, this former junior public school educated students from JK to grade 5. In the years since closing it's sat vacant drawing in scrappers, homeless and of course the vandals. The classrooms were clean for the most part but the hallways were just thrashed. Almost every window had a board making this a challenging location to shoot from a lighting perspective. Then there were a dozen shopping carts filled with scrap metal and rotting food laying throughout the gymnasium. A strong odor of smoke also filled the air as some dillhole must have decided to light the stage on fire at some point in time. Seems like it may have been a nice little school at one time with hand painted murals on many of the walls. Unfortunately it's definitely sketchy town now with the dark scary hallways and unsavory inhabitants.

As of 2021, Google streetview shows construction of 3 story condos taking place on the property.
