Gould Homestead- Foley

At the corners of Conlin and Harmony Roads in Oshawa stands the Gould House. Originally patented by the Canada Company in 1832, the property was owned and occupied in 1837 by John Currie and Malcolm Wright. By 1860, the property was taken over by George Gould. By 1877 the property is registered as belonging to his son James, and indicates two houses standing at the northwest corner. James(a) brother John farmed the property across Harmony Road. The house has stood empty for several months and I(a)m certain will soon be taken down to make way for either housing or business. There is parking right beside the house, and the back door is wide open.
