Demolished House in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada

Recent status Demolished
Location # 1823

This is a farm house and barn tucked in behind an overgrown lawn and trees just off the road. I wasn't able to enter the house [poison ivy] so there are exterior photos only. The care given to the little things, like the decor around the doors and windows, is quite nice.

Once the autumn chill has killed off the poison ivy, I hope to revisit it.

**from erodger10....August 2015: My Nana's sister owned this home/farm for many years and it has been in the family for generations. However, after she passed away no one could come to a decision on what to do with the gorgeous property because since there was no Will stating what should be done with it. And so to this day, it just sits there.

My Nana's sister owned this home. She passed away many years ago and since then it has just been left to decay. She did not write a will, so my family members could not decide what should be done with the property and who should take over.

Just to let people know there are some pretty big holes in the floors and the stairs down to the crawl space have fallen away.

Corrected coordinates, map is now accurate.

House is mostly boarded up now, only once small opening but very sketchy inside. Since I was alone, I did not venture far inside, due to the holes in the floor. Barn is gone, pumphouse remains.

Beautiful home! Did you notice in a bunch of the interior pictures there is an orange glow? Would that of been from your flash? Just wondering because its not in all of them.

I have a few places to recheck up there. I spent a few summers roaming that area and swimming at the quarry which is now Kirkfield lake, never thought to take a camera in those days.
