Driving down Highway 7 near Kinsale, it’s hard to miss this little ivy covered gem. I actually made two stops here, the first with the front door locked shut, and the second with the front door wide open.
Sitting on Concession 5, lot 4, it is listed in the “Illustrated Historical Atlas of the County of Ontario, 1877” as being owned by a JW Clarke. I have since been unable to find any other information on him. Perhaps he moved shortly after. It appears the last owners were the “Philadelphia Banquet Centre”. The inside is in bad shape, and it appears a neighbourhood of multi-million dollar homes are encroaching on the little clapboard house. I will post more information on this location when I find it. :)
