This E.S.D. (Emergency Swing Dam) was one of 9 built world wide, and the only one left! This dam was designed by Canadians. I have included pictures of some of the signs that hold information.

This dam is not abandoned, it is still tested regularly, and is a vital safety device in the event the lock gates should ever fail.
