Hazards

To reach Mindoka you'll probably have to walk the rails, so do so with caution.

Other than that, elements, bears, bugs.

History

A couple of small adjacent railroad and sawmill towns that were gradually abandoned by the 50s.

About this location

I came across the existence of Mindoka while looking for info on old ghost towns and the like and decided to take a drive to see what was there. As with many old rail towns, there's very little to see.

A farm implement, some clearings that likely would have been farm fields, and a collapsed empty log house were about all I could find. The house is right on the road where South Mindoka would have been.

About 1.5km up the tracks where Mindoka would have been there's basically just a field and one old farm implement. The rail siding is still active.

It was a nice walk though.

Mindoka is more ghost than town.

What (little) is left of the towns of Mindoka and South Mindoka
