Hazards
The site itself has a little debris but is fairly safe. The ladder is disconnected a section or two up so if you were to try and climb it that would present a danger.
Cell service was spotty and the road in is a little rough but was not too complicated to navigate. Bears and bugs are the usual problems.
History
This is one of the many fire towers that were erected across Northern Ontario, within radio distance of one another, a watchman in each scanning for smoke on the horizon.
I don't know the specific name or history of this one unfortunately.
About this location
I had tried to reach this one in winter but couldn't find it, and didn't want to attempt climbing the hill and getting the sled stuck.
Turns out it was set further back in the hill than I'd thought.
It's a little bit of an upward hike to get to the tower from where you can park but some very nice views of the surrounding area.
