Often wondered driving by if this was abandoned. It appears it is.
The Kitchens were pioneer farmers who settled just south of Brooklin. The railway used to run from the North down towards Whitby on the property across the road.
The house was owned by Richard J. Roe until it was bought by Transport Canada and it was demolished in 2013 for the Highway 407 Expansion.

I haven't seen any activity there for over a year, Kush, and there are no car tracks leading up the driveway, only ones that look like someone turned around. The grass between what used to be tracks was taller as well. I will check it out once the cold snap ends. If I find out it isn't, I will take it down.
