Location # 6287

Old stone house set back from the road 2-3 km from the town of Walkerton.
Boards on almost all the windows. No vandalism or graffiti. Boring uninteresting main floor. The basement is actually the most interesting part of the house. The top floor has a horizontal floor door with an attached weighted pulley to help open it..kinda neat. And a fairly large animal carcus behind the wall, possibly a fox.
Check out what they used for a coat hanger on the wall in the basement.

Update: Summer 2015 - Home has been restored. Another one saved.

You get that certain feeling in these places. You can sense the weight of the years, smell the many decades. Back in time.

Oh but i do realize it rob, i love it. I was there almost 2 hrs. I just felt the main floor was basic, even the main floor bathroom is modern 80's porcelain. I agree... such history here.

You just hit one of the nicest houses and you didn't even realize it. I see nothing boring in there at all. Nothing but history. Nice find.

This makes me think of what it would have been like for the pioneers of the country.
