You can smell this house from the end of its driveway. As I approached the front door, a thousand little mosquitoes swarmed up from the rotting leaves and up my pant legs, so gross. A few of them tracked me to my car. I didn't have my bushwhacking footwear on, and thus only checked the front and side doors, which were locked. There are two log style shacks on the property as well, although I am uncertain as to which property they belong. The neighboring house appears to be active, evident by a new white truck parked there, and a grody pair of dark grey long underwear flapping on the clothes line. I did not venture to the back of the house, or near the log sheds.
ADDED BY GROUND STATE:
This location offers two completely different explorations.
The modern home is a real mystery - everything remains untouched inside, hinting at some kind of massive family tragedy. A devastating foreclosure? Accidental death in a car crash? A bitter divorce? From personal photos scattered throughout, happy times were had here by a loving family. What could have caused them to suddenly drop everything and seal the doors, abandoning all of their belongings?
The basement only adds to the strangeness. There is peculiarly advanced state of corrosion to all metal. Could it have simply 'just flooded' like many other houses we've seen? The rust is so prevalent and deeply oxidized that maybe radon gas, methamphetamine laboratory, a moonshine distillery, corrosive air, or water contaminated with chlorides are more likely culprits than 'just flooding'.
The old cabins on the grounds clearly have not been occupied for some time. These are filled with antique objects and are in a far more advanced state of decay and are open to the elements.

Funny you should say that gs, my initial gut told me it might be vacant as well. Did you happen to notice if the screen door was still slightly ajar, and were those long johns still there? I swear you'd only read/write stuff like this on this site lol. PM me.
Speaking of creepo neighbor, that house had only a broken-down truck at the side of the driveway and all the windows were full of condensation on the insides. It may be vacant now. And even more interesting, there may even be a possibility that the house is suffering the same basement-fate that this one did.
No superss, I had no clue, had been stalking it for a while before I actually had a chance to stop in. Unfortunately I was alone and wearing dressy shoes. With the boarding and creepo neighbor vibe too, I opted to keep it to a minimum. That and I was late to pick up my Mom! How thrilling to see the inside now, especially those cabins!
Wow, how bizarre, great place, great additions too. f.o.s., did you know all that stuff was there when you went in May?
Awesome additions, how bizarre! All those memories, and you're right gs, those pressed pants are eerie...
