About this location
Sitting right across the river from Renfrew, Ontario is the open pit Iron mine that opened in 1876 and closing in 1976, 100 yrs later. Some rumors that it was to open in 1979 but never happened. The pit sit full of water, the office is still intact. Someone takes care of the landscape. The buildings are falling apart inside. I don't have much more information on who owns the land now.
