Being that Guelph is so hilly, where you entered is a good 30 meters below the part of the creek that went under the old Paisley road bridge. To add to your history, the Creek was first partially buried in the 30s, then completely buried in the late 40s. The limestone you'll run into a few hundred meters in, is 70 years old at least, beyond that even older. Did you make it to the archway? Really spooky stuff. If I had to guess it's at least 20 feet underground. It ran through what today is the backyards of Lyon Avenue, one house still has a limestone bridge in its backyard, then travelled through today is parking lot and tennis court of GCVI, on the west side of Yorkshire, then banked to the east side of Yorkshire at Cork street. I went to GCVI and the art rooms always had cracking on the walls and experienced small floods in the past. Buildings are sealed tight unless you're an insect, except for the old silo which has a top and bottom part that can both be accessed. You can only go in the bottom half of the silo but you'll need a flashlight. The top half of the silo is extremely dangerous, the interior structure has completely collapsed in on itself and there's visible mold everywhere. Additionally, being the only hole to get in or out, there's a 99% chance you'll get a face full of pigeons the second you peek in

Spotted some neat relics in rubble here, in 2017! Some old cans at least 50 years old and some old tools. Incredible place for an archeologist, expansive underground systems and old living quarters make for many lost treasures

Although it's unfortunately laying on the ground now, the roof is still in pretty good shape! Still large parts of foundation left too.

This barn belonged to my friends grandfather who left it for his family when he passed away, and was later sold to a development company from the US, so it's largely overlooked. Seems to have become a dumping ground for Guelph before it was torn down. Silo still remains, and half of a new car in the grass

That tunnel gets very very interesting a little farther. Check out the Wellington County museum website they have a few pics of the creek when it was above ground. Really cool to see

My friend you found Pond Creek. You're a legend. The pond travelled along Yorkshire from Lyons Ave, a house on Lyons still has a bridge in the backyard that went over the stream. They buried the first part in the 30s, then the last bit in the 40s. How long of a trek is it until the chute to the limestone?
