Sometimes taking the long way home works out. I usually traverse the service roads after visiting family, but this time took a different road and was pleasantly surprised. Two houses can be found on this lot. Initially I thought the house on the hill was lived in, and was leery of being seen by people there. Upon closer inspection, I discovered it was also empty. I decided on Good and Bad Bones (inspired by Hamilton's Good and Bad Kirk). This location is very near a newer neighborhood. Good Bones is in the DB as Loc 10085.

Overlooking a new-built subdivision, they are perched atop a hill in direct sight of neighboring "cookie cutter" homes. One was rather easy to access its interior, however I left the doors shut to preserve its interior walls, and in hopes neighbors wouldn't see open doors and screw them shut.

First House (lower with barn) The roof of the first house, actually the whole house itself seemed sturdy, and was relatively dry inside considering there was a nicely sized hole exposing the kitchen via the exterior kitchen wall. Most of the contents have been looted and or re purposed by the owner.

However the bathroom looked to have a moderately renovated appeal, presuming a nineties thing, then again who knows how long these houses have been in this state. The stove remaining in the kitchen was rather new-based on the styling of the rest of the house, and the limestone foundation it sat on.

It started to rain harder so the upstairs rooms were never explored, and based on a quick picture of the basement stairwell it looked damp, but not flooded. Which isn't what i had expected considering the lack of front foundation.

Bad Bones is right. This gorgeously decaying house really has only one major thing left in it: a box containing all the wedding cards and leftover invitations of the couple that lived here. Sadly, does this mean that they separated bitterly and neither one of them wanted to take the cards, but neither one of them could throw them away?

Thanks dm running down that driveway was a little unnerving given the proximity to that neighborhood but they didn't call the fuzz on me. I think my ridiculous hat does the trick lol

Nice work on these two places, great finds so close to a new subdivision.
