Angry Lady

There was a branch across the driveway so I parked in the driveway but just off the road. I could have driven around the branch as it appeared others had but I felt it best to stay there. We walked in and I went straight the door. It was no longer in use but had been pried open with a wrecking bar and was not tightly closed. My wife and a friend got back into the van just as a CSUV pulled up. I spoke with the lady and she said she was being a good neighbour and checking things out as there had been several break-ins in the area recently. I told her what we were doing and she could see our cameras and left. I had noticed an awesome birdbath in some weeds and we went back to shoot it. We were back in the van and just putting it into reverse when a car pulled up behind and partially blocked us from leaving. I got out to explain and she came forward very aggressively that we were trespassing and must delete all our pictures. She demanded my name and address and said she was calling the police. I politely told her that my plate number was all she needed and the police could get everything from it. She kept at me about trespassing and I explained about belonging to a group that documents abandoned buildings and she informed me that it was not abandoned and that someone lived there. I guess it is remotely possible but based on the condition of the place, I find it hard to believe. I think that whoever was living there is likely now in a long term care facility and apart form cutting the grass, they do not do anything else to maintain it.

Likely best to leave well enough alone and avoid this location.
