About this location

The historic Goderich CPR station had it(a)s official opening as one end of the Goderich-Guelph rail service on Thursday, September 12, 1907. It was last used as a boarding platform in 1956, and the entire line was abandoned in 1989.
What a great looking building... It sits essentially empty from what I could see peering into the windows, except for some paintings in the round former waiting room. A link is provided with the latest news of potential repurposing as a restaurant.

From what I could see, although it sits very close to the harbour and very near the path of the recent tornado, it suffered absolutely no damage. Not a shingle misplaced.

I guess it is done. YouTube video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AOipWd_24c I would love to have seen it before it became a restaurant. Paid $1 for the place and $1.8 million to move it. I would have done it for $1.7 million but I never hear until its too late.
