This closed pioneer cemetery is located at what is now, Otterville ON., This town was once called Erbtown. This cemetery location is confusing and must have been moved but I did not find any reference to that, just a church on Pine St. at one time. This just seems to have been plunked here, with the house, as there is too much in this little area. The other cemetery and frame church outline close-by belong together and have their own story. The name here for this cemetery, says "Pine Street" but it's on Main Street and Pine street is East of here second street.. There was also a church at Pine street and Main Street back in 1880 and that's where I believe this cemetery came from. Then they were arranged in this fashion for protection and ease of mowing. This cemetery dates back to at least 1819, the date of the first meeting house. There are about 28 headstones here. Some are only stones or stones with just initials. The Pine Street Friend's Meeting House[1819] below is now used as a community centre. It still stands but the two church's that replaced it in 1849 and 1893 are gone and one of those was on Pine Street.
