About this location
Fourway Public School was once part of the Lakehead District School Board. This elementary school closed in 2005 as the population of the surrounding area dropped due to the collapse of the logging industry. There were less than 60 children registered in the school when it shut down. Kids from surrounding areas of Finmark, Shabaqua, Kaministiquia and Shebandowan attended this small school, now are bussed to Kakabeka. The grounds are now used for storage of vehicles and other large items. The building is for sale, it appears to be in pretty good shape still. All doors and windows are locked, neighbours next door watch the place carefully.
