History

January 2023 - contractor is conducting designated substance removals and building envelope enclosures. No easy POEs.

About this location

Incredibly large and easily accessible building that seems to have been a warehouse of some sort that is burnt and destructed. Safe to go in, as people have been working on fixing it up slowly here and there. The location is sometimes occupied by workers inside the building but many pedestrians like to go close to get a better look inside.

Located right behind the YMCA and the skatepark before the train tracks on Downie St. where it meets St. David, right downtown Stratford!

Great for photography!

From EWP, August 2014:
On July 18, 2014 The Cooper Site has been named one of Heritage Canada The National Trust's Top Ten Endangered Places. However at this time city council has not decided what they are going to do with this site. In October 2003 a part of the building was destroyed by fire. The rest of the site has been boarded up and no access to interior is allowed.

Stratford is either going to demolish this building or repurpose it soon. The city also put up a massive fence around the entire perimeter to keep everyone out.
