This is the old Spanish Train Station. The Spanish Station was built as a divisional point for the CPR mainline built between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury from 1883 to 1888. Every evening the residences of Spanish would all gather at the railway station to see who was arriving or departing their town. After the departing train would wound around the curve and disappeared from sight, the people would go back to their homes leaving the village as if it was deserted.

This place is now sealed tight with locks on the doors. Enjoy the pictures!

Near the station was the water tower, used back in steam days for replenishing the locomotive's water supply. Once CPR dieselized by the end of the 1950's water tower was obsolete, concrete foundation still exists though.
