Been watching this place for a while and waited for the snow to fall before I made sure it was abandoned. Seems like at one point this house was converted to a business downstairs and living space upstairs. There are a few outbuildings that I could not get to, due to the snow and I was not wearing boots. Access is around back, but be prepared to crawl through some bushes and glass.
House was interesting with a ton of clutter and interesting items to look at, as well, as an old double barrel rifle. There are some cool photos to be taken, but there is a lot of stuff.
I did manage to find an old envelope and searched the name and found an obituary.
Seems this house and farm belonged to a Michael Lovisek. He passed away unexpectedly while walking to his garden with his nephew Jeff at this his Courtice farm on May 29th 2009 in his 72nd year. Michael was born in Hearst(Bradlo) on Jan 8th 1938 and moved to Oshawa in 1945. He was a plumber/pipefitter for over 50 years.
Hoping to revisit in a couple of weeks.Keeping this one secret, cause there are some amazing things inside that will be gone if this gets out there.
MARCH 2023 UPDATE: I changed the status on this from “demolished” to “abandoned” again, as there are still several outbuildings on the property and a bit of abandonment-exploring life left here (Ground State).
